At the Annual Vietnam M&A Forum 2016 on 18 August 2016 held in Ho Chi Minh City, VILAF again won the Best M&A Law Firm of the Year Award.

Vietnam M&A Forum is the largest M&A and strategic investment annual public event in Vietnam for the business community, domestic and foreign investors in Vietnam, organized by Vietnam Investment Review, AVM Vietnam, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

VILAF is a first tier law firm (ranked by IFLR1000, Legal500, Chambers and Asialaw) and one of the largest law firms in Vietnam primarily advising foreign investors, PE funds and financial institutions in their investment and operations in Vietnam.

During the year, VILAF has advised a number of prominent M&A deals in Vietnam, including the US$109 million purchase of 9.77% of Vietnam Airlines’ stock as a strategic investor by ANA Holdings, the US$ 176 million purchase of 8% stock in Petrolimex by JX Nippon Oil & Energy, the approx franc 867 million bidding for all the equity interests of LafargeHolcim in Vietnam by some foreign investors, and the strategic investment by VOF and DEG in An Cuong Wood.
