On August 8, 2018, at GEM Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, the 10th Vietnam M&A Forum honored the best M&A deals and advisory firms for 2018 and for the decade of 2009-2018. VILAF brought home the 2018 M&A Law Firm of the Year Award and the M&A Law Firm of the Decade Award and was the sole law firm winning both awards at the Forum and the sole domestic law firm winning an award.
Since the inception of Vietnam M&A Forum in 2009, the annual awards have grown into one of the most prestigious platforms to celebrate excellence in deal making and the performance of industry advisors. For the first time in its 10-year history, Vietnam M&A Forum 2018 announced the top ten M&A deals of the decade and the best advisors of the decade.
Earlier this year, in March 2018, VILAF also won the Most Innovative National Firm of the Year Award at the IFLR Asia Awards 2018 held at Shangri-la Hotel, Hong Kong.

Among prominent M&A and equity deals the firm recently advised include advising Vinhomes in the investment valued about US$1.3 billion of GIC Private Limited in Vinhomes; SCG Chemicals in the chain of acquisitions of equity interests from Qatar Petroleum and PetroVietnam in US$5.4 billion Long Son Petrochemical Project; Credit Suisse in the US$310 million concurrent equity placement and convertible bond offering for listing on the Singapore Exchange by Novaland Group; and Siam Cement Group in the US$156 million acquisition of Vietnam Construction Materials.
