VILAF advised the sale of Thinh Phat Cables and Dovina to Stark Corporation

VILAF’s clients, the founding shareholders of Thinh Phat Cables and Dovina successfully sold 100% of their equity stake in the business to Stark Corporation PCL. The combined transaction value is approximately US$240 million.

According to Mergemarket, this sale is the largest inbound industrial transaction in Vietnam by a private company for the last three years.

Thinh Phat Cables and Dovina Corporation are leading manufacturers and traders of non-ferrous metals, electric wires, and cables, and among the top 100 largest private companies in Vietnam. Thinh Phat Cables was founded in 1987 and leads the market in the manufacturing of low-to-high voltage power cables & electric wires in Vietnam while Dovina focuses on the manufacturing of copper wire and rods, aluminum rod and processes PVC and XLPE compound plastic products. Primarily they operate their business on the basis of business-to-business and business-to-government models.

The acquirer, Stark Corporation PCL’s has been in the business of wire and cable manufacturing for 5 decades and has been a market leader in Thailand and in the Southeast Asian region.
