VILAF is delighted to announce that the financing of the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 LNG-to-power project has been awarded a 2024 Deal of the Year Award in the Projects Category by China Business Law Journal.  In addition, the project has been named a finalist for the ALB Southeast Asia Law Awards 2025, which will be held in May 2025.

VILAF acted as Vietnamese legal counsel to Citibank and ING Bank in the financing of the 1.6GW Nhon Trach 3 and 4 LNG-to-power project, Vietnam’s first LNG-to-power project. This landmark transaction also represents the first large-scale energy project in Vietnam completed without government guarantees. The project financing employs a hybrid structure combining tied and untied Export Credit Agency (ECA) loans together with local financing.
