VILAF advised the joint venture between Sojitz Corporation and Vinamilk

VILAF advised Sojitz Corporation and Vinamilk’s subsidiary, Vietnam Livestock Corporation JSC in the formation of a joint venture to construct, manage and operate one of the largest cattle farms and beef processing facilities in Vietnam.

This venture is the first of many planned investments and collaborations between two of the leading corporations in Vietnam and Japan, with the total investment target up to USD 500 million.

On 8 March 2023, Sojitz and Vinamilk held a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction of the 75-hectare complex in Tam Dao, Vinh Phuc Province. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational by June 2024. The products manufactured by the joint venture carry the Vinabeef brand.

Sojitz Corporation, founded in 2004, is one of Japan’s largest conglomerates engaged in a wide range of businesses globally including manufacturing, trading, investment, and services. In Vietnam, Sojitz has been active in the food retail business through Ministop.

Vietnam Livestock Corporation JSC specializes in livestock, dairy product processing and dairy products under the Moc Chau brand.
