VILAF was proud to co-sponsor the VIFC Symposium 2026, hosted by the Vietnam Business Lawyers Club (VBLC) in collaboration with the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) on 29 May 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City.
At a pivotal moment in Vietnam’s ambition to establish a world-class international financial centre, the symposium brought together policymakers, regulators, investors, financial institutions, legal practitioners, and industry leaders to explore the regulatory and institutional foundations necessary to support the development of the Vietnam International Financial Centre (VIFC).
A key highlight of the event was the official launch of the VIAC FinTech & Digital Economy Dispute Expert Council and the establishment of a dedicated Financial Dispute Resolution Division for complex cross-border financial transactions.
VILAF was honored to contribute to these discussions through the active participation of our lawyers:
▪️ Phong Tran, VILAF Senior Partner and VBLC Chairman, moderated the panel discussion “Bankability for Green Finance and Infrastructure Projects of VIFC,” examining how legal and financial frameworks can enhance the attractiveness and financing viability of sustainable infrastructure investments.
▪️ Duyen Ha Vo, VILAF Senior Partner, moderated the panel discussion “Regulatory Sandbox & Digital Finance Innovation in the VIFC,” exploring how forward-looking regulatory approaches can foster innovation while maintaining market integrity and investor protection.
▪️ Quynh Anh Le, VILAF Senior Associate, joined distinguished financial experts in contributing to the discussion on the future of digital finance and fintech development in the VIFC.
These panels benefited from valuable insights from prominent speakers, including Mr. Do Ngoc Quynh, General Secretary of the Vietnam Bond Market Association, Mr. Le Hoai Nam, a renewable energy investor, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Chairman of the Board of FiinRatings, Ms. Vo Thi Thu Hien, Country Head of Technology & Communications of Citi Commercial Bank Vietnam, Mr. Vo Hoang Hai, Deputy CEO of Nam A Bank, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Huyen, Financial Infrastructure Officer at IFC (World Bank Group), and Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Bich Tram, Partner at Tilleke & Gibbins.
