VILAF warmly congratulates Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) on successful completion of the joint venture formation with Sun Group, Toyota Tsusho and Japan Airlines to develop a state-of-the-art aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Van Don International Airport in Vietnam. 

Representing an investment of approximately US$360 million, the project marks a significant milestone in HAECO’s long-term growth strategy in Asia. It will also strengthen Vietnam’s aviation infrastructure, expand regional MRO capacity and bring international standards, proven systems and operational best practices to one of Asia’s fastest-growing aviation markets.

Subject to relevant regulatory approvals, the approximately 170,000-square-metre facility is targeted to commence operations in late 2028 and is expected to create more than 1,000 highly skilled jobs.
